Does guttering work need planning permission?

In most cases, no. Replacing gutters, fascias, or soffits on a standard domestic property in Dublin is considered routine maintenance and sits within exempted development. You are fine to go ahead without an application. If the property is listed or in a conservation area, that is worth checking first, however a quick call to the council usually clears it up fast.
