Rathmines Guttering

What we do

From the first bracket to the final downpipe connection, guttering is a trade that rewards precision. We cover Rathmines and the surrounding D6 and D6W postcodes, taking on everything from straightforward repairs to full rainwater system replacements on older Dublin terraces.

The work itself

Over the years, timber fascia softwood rot remediation has come up on more jobs than I’d expect, particularly on Victorian and Edwardian stock around the area. We sort the underlying timber before any uPVC board goes on, because cladding over rot is a short-term fix that causes long-term grief.

We work with:

  • uPVC gutters, fascias and soffits
  • Cast iron gutter restoration and repair
  • Aluminium seamless guttering
  • Half-round, ogee and square-line profiles
  • Leaf guards and gutter mesh
  • Hopper heads, downpipes and rainwater outlets
  • Soakaway and gully connections

Where we work

We take on jobs from Rathmines out through Rathgar, Ranelagh, Terenure and Harold’s Cross, broadly using Kildare Place School on Kildare Street as our northern boundary marker for the city-centre edge of our patch.

How we work

Gutter bracket re-spacing for correct fall is something a lot of contractors skip, it adds time but it’s what stops water pooling at the joints and causing premature failure. We don’t skip it. The gutter fascia interface uses a standard 112mm half-round profile seated against a pre-drilled UPVC fascia board, secured at 600mm bracket centres to maintain the 1:600 fall ratio recommended for residential drainage runs. That kind of detail matters on a wet Dublin winter.
