Daventry Patios
Daventry Patios
Patio Installation Across Daventry and the Surrounding Area
First job I ever laid on my own, the whole thing shifted by spring. Learned fast after that.
We’ve been laying patios in and around Daventry long enough to know what the ground here actually does. Clay-heavy soil, poor drainage, gardens that slope toward the house. Right, that combination catches people out every time.
What We Do
- Porcelain tiled patios
- Indian sandstone and limestone slabbing
- Concrete flagstone installations
- Garden paving and paths
- New walling and fencing
- Artificial grass and turfed lawns
Every bed we lay starts with 4:1 sharp sand cement bedding mortar, mixed and applied properly. No shortcuts on the base. The surface work only holds if what’s underneath is done right.
Why DIY Goes Wrong Here
Clay-bound gardens don’t forgive mistakes. Sloping ground needs calculated falls and proper sub-base depth, or water pools against your house wall. So many people buy the slabs, watch a video, and lay them straight onto a thin screed. The frost gets in. The slabs lift. It’s a disaster altogether, as they say, and undoing bad work costs more than doing it correctly the first time.
We survey the ground before we quote. We calculate the drainage fall. We dig to the right depth for the soil type. That’s not making it complicated, that’s just how it has to be done.
Working Locally
We cover Daventry and the surrounding Northamptonshire area. However, if you’re based a bit further out, say toward Ryton Pools country park or beyond, it’s worth giving us a ring to check we cover your postcode.
Finish is everything. Material quality matters. However good your stone looks in the yard, it needs to be bedded right or it won’t last a Daventry winter.
